To enroll at Med-Assist School of Hawaii, prospective students must first come take our FREE entrance exam. It is offered daily and can be taken any time by making an appointment with our Admissions Department. Also, this is a great opportunity to come down and take a tour of the school and inquire about our programs and the financial options available to you.
Exam results are usually available by the end of the day.
Our FREE entrance exam consists of math and reading, and takes about one hour and fifty minutes to complete. Each part of the exam is split in two sections; the reading is split into vocabulary and reading comprehension, and the math is split into mathematics computation, and applied mathematics.
These scores help us determine where we can provide tutoring for you if needed.
Applicants must participate in a personal interview with members of the school's faculty and staff to assess their personal maturity and desire for becoming a medical assistant. This interview is also intended to apprise the applicant - in accordance with the school's policies and procedures - of the academic and behavioral requirements expected of students, as well as make very clear the financial obligations that must be satisfied. It also provides an opportunity for applicants to ask questions of the school representatives about any aspect of the school, the field of study, the profession, and the career prospects related to the medical assisting field.
Each applicant will attend the interview session on their own and will meet with a committee that will generally be comprised of two to five members of the school's faculty and/or staff. It should be noted that the applicant must still receive a positive recommendation from the faculty and/or staff conducting the interview. Med-Assist School of Hawaii reserves the right to deny admission to an applicant on the basis of this interview if it deems s/he does not possess the traits desire for success in the program.
